This Thursday, all the speed cameras on the highway are turning off. The program has been a financial failure because we the people learned ignoring tickets in the mail makes them go away. In all, we’ve lost millions on the program.
Be careful, these are just highway cameras. Red light cameras, city speed cameras, and those cameras by schools are still live.

I don’t like cameras, but if people can not drive slowly when they passing a school or a kinder garden, have cameras there and let them pay hard for speeding.

People should be more self-disciplined when driving. Drivers should always have second thoughts before speeding off when passing schools. Children are quite vulnerable to accidents especially with motorists who don’t care about traffic rules and simply choose to ignore them! It’s sad that millions of dollars were lost on such a fine and noble program!!!! Thanks for posting!

These cameras are still up and running on inner streets in phx and tucson as well. Tucson likes to use their vans which seem to be effective. I thought the cameras were great for reducing accidents but sometimes I think they made the cost of the ticket way too high. I’ve heard of $300 tickets for 10 over…
